We love this recipe for it's authentic chinese feel, coupled with a side of steamed greens it's a favourite for our daughter.
Ingredients
Oil
½ tsp
ginger minced
1.5 tsp
garlic minced
½ cup GF
tamari sauce
¼ cup
water
½ cup
packed brown sugar
500g
steak (roast beef)
1/3 cup
cornflour
2 green
onions, sliced
Method
Heat oil in a small pan. Add ginger and garlic and stir for about 1 minute.
Add tamari sauce, water and brown sugar and bring to the boil. Let boil for 3-5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Set aside.
Slice meat into thin slices. Toss in cornflour, gently shaking off the excess.
Place a little oil in a pan or wok and cook the beef in small batches for about 2 minutes. (It doesn't need to be cooked through).
Once all the beef has been cooked, combine with the sauce and heat over medium heat until hot and bubbly.
Remove and stir in green onions.
Serve with Rice.
